The City of Jackson is currently listing Surplus properties for sale. Some of the properties may have taxes accrued.
The City of Jackson has the possession of the deeds to these properties.
You may offer any price you choose for a listed property, but if the offer is unreasonably low, it will not be considered. If the offer seems reasonable, it will then be forwarded to the City Council for a final decision. After the City Council approves a bid, it must appear in the paper as a legal notice giving the public the option to bid. If a bid is received, it must be 10% above your bid. You will be given the option to counter-bid.
STEPS TO PURCHASE PROPERTY:

- After a Zoning Review Form has been completed by the Planning Department, you will be directed to the City of Jackson Recorder’s office to make an official offer to purchase the property. This offer will then be reviewed and forwarded to the City Council for approval.
