Federally Assisted/Obligated Projects

Federally Assisted/Obligated Projects

The MPO is required by Federal Law (23 CFR 450.332 - Project selection for implementation) to publish an annual listing of the transportation projects planned in our area that will use federal funding sources. This requirement covers all related projects including roads and transit.

The goals of the annual listing include keeping the public up-to-date and reconfirming that the active projects are supported by the community and its MPO representatives. It is notable that a significant amount of federal funding is invested in Jackson and Madison County for transportation improvements. This listing contains information from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and from the adopted Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Jackson Area MPO, including projects from the Jackson Transit Authority (JTA) to meet Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements.

The new listing for the Federal Fiscal Year 2018 (October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018) will be reviewed by the MPO Executive Board on December 13, 2018 as required. The report is also linked below for public review and comment.
