As recommendation by the Safe Neighborhood Task Force, Neighborhood Services goal is to monitor completion of the Safe Neighborhood recommendations;
- Develop the capacity of neighborhood watch groups and neighborhood associations to work effectively with city governmental departments in addressing blight, crime, safety and housing issues;
- Develop new neighborhood associations and neighborhood watch groups; develop a mechanism to link home owners with code violations with churches and nonprofit organizations that offer repair services;
- Monitor the implementation of the Mayor’s Second Chance Program, a program for ex-offenders leaving prison.
