Main Street Studio presents "SYMBIOSIS," a collection of works by six artists who share studio space, offering each other ideas and constructive criticism. The artists are Dana Brooks, Jettte Garner, Karlie Head, Kate Lagaly, Janice Sumler and Elaine Vars.
Reception: Sunday, October 3, from 2 - 4:00 p.m.
A collection of art reflecting life's journey shared by all women. Featuring oils, pastels and pencil.

The Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, at 3:00 p.m. in the George A. Smith Meeting Room on the first floor of City Hall.

First Friday Forum will be in Clayton Hall at the First United Methodist Church located at 315 East Chester in downtown Jackson at noon. First United Methodist Church and Jackson Downtown Development Corporation sponsor the event the first Friday of each month. Lunch is provided for $5. For more information call 427-7573.

The Jackson-Madison County Library is sponsoring its first "One Community, One Book" effort. The 2004 "One Community, One Book" selection for Jackson is ALL OVER BUT THE SHOUTIN' by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Rick Bragg. Thursday, Oct. 7th at Noon Author Rick Bragg will read from his book and answer questions. Come early to listen to Music Highway Revue perform. You won't need to bring a sack lunch for this very special program. Reggi's Bar-B-Q and Wings will sell sandwiches outside the library Program Center. The Friends of the Library will serve dessert and coffee. Don't miss this opportunity to meet the author. Communities all over the country are participating in citywide book clubs, with the idea of getting you and all your friends to read the same book and then share your thoughts about the book.

October 31 It's murder at the library! Join the fun on Sunday, in the Library Program Center for "Just Desserts Mystery Theater," produced by Downtown Theatrical Productions. Come to the library for a "book signing" and participate in the solving of a HARDBACK HOMICIDE. Talk to the actors and try to figure out "whodunit" as you enjoy the fabulous disserts parepared by the Friends of the Library. The Program Center will open at 2:30, with the performance beginning at 3:00. (Don't forget - Daylight Saving Time ends the last Sunday in October. Set your clock so you won't miss a minute of the fun.) Tickets for the event, which will be available at the library on Oct. 1, are $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for students.
