May 17 - June 25 - The Jackson Art Association and The NED welcomes The Tennessee Watercolor Society's 29th Exhibition to the Ned. The display will be open to the public from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at The NED. There will be a Reception June 12 from 3 - 5 p.m. Free.

THE JACKSON/MADISON COUNTY LIBRARY

The deadline for the Jackson/Madison County Library Short Story Contest, Sponsored by West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation, is July 31st. All participants must be in grades 9 - 12. The contest is open to students in Madison County, including students in public and private schools, as well as those home-schooled. Link here to view or print the Rules and Guidelines.

In an attempt to increase health awareness through education and prevention, Pentecostal Assembly Church Of God In Christ has scheduled its fourth annual Community Health, Wholeness, and Social Awareness Fair located at 452 North Hays. The fair will be Saturday, June 12, 2004 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. In order that every aspect of health care is addressed, we have partnered with the Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Mid-South Heart Center, Department of Children's Services and many other agencies.
For your participation to help us in our efforts by making a donation (i.e. food donations, gift certificates, door prizes) to the health fair.

The Great Race, America's oldest, longest running and richest vintage motor-sports competition, will be greeted in downtown on Jackson's historic court square.
More than 100 vintage vehicles will arrive for an overnight stop on Monday, June 21, shortly after 6 p.m. as they compete in their two week, vintage car cross country rally race. Great American racers will be welcomed on one of their most challenging days by an enthusiastic crowd. The cross-country trek is based on time-speed-distance for vehicles that are at least 45 years old. Great Race 2004 participants may enter any make, model or year of vehicle that was originally manufactured prior to 1959. Come see the cars and talk with the drivers.
