CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL CALLED MEETING

JUNE 16, 2004


The Jackson, Tennessee City Council met for a called budget meeting at 9:00 a.m. on June 16, 2004, in the George A. Smith Meeting Room at City Hall with Mayor Charles Farmer and Council members John Bannister; Charles "Pepper " Bray; Ernest Brooks, II; Harvey Buchanan; David Cisco; Johnny Lee Dodd; Maurice Hays; Gerry Neese; and Charles Rahm present. Also present was Toni Ross, recorder of the minutes.

Council member Ernest Brooks, II gave the invocation and led the audience in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Al Laffoon, City Recorder, explained changes made to the budget since the June 9th meeting. He advised the changes did not affect the total budget amount previously approved.

On the motion of Council member Brooks, seconded by Council member Dodd, the operating budget ordinance as amended for the 2004-2005 fiscal year was approved 8-1, with Council member Neese voting nay.

On the motion of Council member Rahm, seconded by Council member Hays, the tax rate ordinance setting the property tax rate at $2.22 per $100 assessed valuation was approved 8-1, with Council member Neese voting nay.

On the motion of Council member Buchanan, seconded by Council member Cisco, the capital budget ordinance for the 2004-2005 fiscal year was approved 8-1, with Council member Neese voting nay.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
