City of Jackson Recreation & Parks Athletics division offers a variety of individual or group sports opportunities and provides recreational physical activities for residents of all ages. Plus, indoor and outdoor facilities allow year-round access for sports. Athletics also holds certified training clinics for volunteers wanting to coach youth teams and leagues, and for sports umpires and referees. Annually, the Recreation & Parks Department is host to the Hub City Softball Tournament.

For residents, Athletics coordinates league play in numerous sports. The division works with the Groundskeeeping and Parks Maintenance division to provide and maintain sports facilities like tennis courts and ball fields. In addition to these athletic facilities, Disc Golf is offered in Muse Park and in-line hockey at North Park. The 18 hole Disc Golf course gives residents access to a rapidly growing sport at both recreational and competitive levels. The course is open and free to the public during park hours (7am –10 pm daily). League play is currently being established. And plans are in place to host tournaments.

Athletics also rents Picnic Packs with basketballs, frisbees, horseshoes, wiffle ball and volleyball equipment. Theyare available at the Westwood Recreation Center, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Two-day advance required.
Fee: $10 with a $35 deposit.
