Following the guidelines for the "Employee of the Month" program, we are pleased to announce the January selection: Officer Ashley McCullar. Officer McCullar is assigned to the Patrol Division, Second Shift and has 2 1/2 years of service with the Department.
Officer McCullar always displays a positive attitude to every task assigned, big or small, giving his full effort. In June of 2009, he and his fellow officers have stopped burglaries in progress, captured suspects in the commission of aggravated burglaries by himself, as well as capturing suspects immediately after burglaries. All of these suspect resisted and evaded arrest and were taken into custody without injury to the suspect or officers.
He has continuously stopped crimes in progress and recovered citizens' property due to his hard work and dedication of the City of Jackson.
Officer McCullar is a devoted husband and an active member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Rose Creek. He is an avid sportsman who often assists with educating youth in hunter safety.
As "Employee of the Month", he receives a plaque acknowledging his selection, a $30.00 gift certificate to a local restaurant, a designated parking space for the month, and a day off with pay, among other special benefits.
