Any sign installed or erected within the Jackson City limits must undergo a review by the Zoning Specialist for the City of Jackson for the purpose of obtaining a Sign Permit. This review is done under the guidelines of The Sign Code for the City of Jackson.

The purpose of the Sign Code is to provide a safe and attractive environment, while allowing adequate identification, advertising, and communication for businesses.

Variances from this code may be requested of the Sign Code Board of Appeals. Criteria for variances are listed within the Sign Code itself.
